MDaemon 25 has been released with the following new features and enhancements.
New MDaemon Features for Administrators
Detect & Filter QR Codes
Cybercriminals often use QR codes in phishing emails to trick users into visiting malicious websites. To help protect users, QR code detection has been added to MDaemon’s content filter, allowing administrators to block, redirect, move, or perform other actions on email messages containing a QR code.
Watch our tutorial video for step-by-step instructions on configuring QR code detection in MDaemon.
New Features for End-users
MDaemon Webmail - Long-press Contextual Menus
In the MDaemon Webmail Pro theme, we’ve added long press contextual menus to folders and list items for mobile devices. This makes it easier to perform various actions such as adding a sender to the Contacts list, assigning message categories, forwarding a message, sharing contacts in vCard format, marking tasks as complete, and other actions that are typically performed via a right-click contextual menu when viewed on a PC.
Easily Identify Key Senders using Contact Images
MDaemon Webmail now supports displaying a sender’s picture in the message list. If an email sender is in the user's contact list and it has a picture, then messages from that contact will display the contact picture instead of the first letter of the contact's name when viewing the Inbox and other message list folders in MDaemon Webmail.
Other Improvements
MDaemon
• We’ve created a github page that explains how to integrate MDaemon Webmail with an intranet site: https://github.com/mdaemon-technologies/intranet-integration
• ClamAV 1.4 is not compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7, so ClamAV is not installed on those Windows versions. If you have an older ClamAV installed by a previous version of MDaemon, you may continue to use it with MDaemon 25.
Remote Administration
• Message Indexing settings have been added to Remote Administration.
• Accounts can now be sorted by the Last Access column in the Account Manager, allowing administrators to more easily identify recent activity.
• Administrators now have the ability to set the default domain when viewing the Domain Manager in Remote Administration.
MDaemon Webmail
• We’ve added a user option to "Automatically sign in to Webmail IM in the browser" under the Personalize menu.
• Automatic external calendar updating has been added to the Pro theme.
• We’ve made changes to the sign-in process to allow users to see meaningful error messages when using the correct password, but access to the account is still denied.
• MDaemon Webmail's Lite theme has been removed from new installs and will no longer be updated.
