Major MailStore database updates coming soon

By Brad Wyro

MailStore has recently announced that beginning with the release of MailStore 25.1 on January 8, 2025, databases running the Firebird 3 or Firebird 2 database management systems will no longer be supported. This affects both the master database, which contains the configuration data, and the internal archive stores for email data. This means that MailStore users must update their databases to Firebird 4 to be able to use MailStore version 25.1 in January.

We recommend installing MailStore version 24.4 before switching to MailStore version 25.1. This allows the databases to be updated to Firebird 4. In January, you can then easily upgrade to MailStore version 25.1 (available from January 8, 2025).

For complete instructions on how to update your MailStore database, please see this article:

Update Notices for MailStore Server to version 25.1 or newer

You can download MailStore 24.4 as well as previous versions using the following link:

If MailStore version 24.4 is already installed and the databases (both the master database, which contains your configuration data, and the internal archive stores for email data) are running on Firebird 4, there is currently no need for action.
